A proper Manchester welcome: Deleter live at Big Hands

Let me start by saying that this was the first gig I’d attended after moving to Manchester, so the stakes couldn’t have been higher. I caught the bus down to Big Hands and stumbled into something straight out of a Tarantino film. My first impression was that the place was being held together by a patchwork of gig posters and American roadside memorabilia, the sort of souvenirs you might pick up hitchhiking across the States, but with a distinctly Bri-h-ish twist. Definitely my kind of haunt. The night was curated and presented by Sour Grapes, a Manchester-based record label and promoter.

zakharleyxavier’s new release featured in drownmag’s latest media updates emphasizes a powerful tension and release. This tightly wound alternative rock piece expertly blends grit, drive, and shimmer into a sound that feels both familiar and refined. It marks a departure from his previously released EP, Volume 1, which is more stripped-back and experimental. In this context, 'Confidence' emerges as a pivotal moment, showcasing gritty, high-impact instances of musical release.

CAMENS emerge swaggering with new single 'Anything To Win'

Returning to the world of music releases after their well-received and notable 2024 UK Top 10 debut album 'Work/Life/Balance', Camens are now ready to unveil a newly branded and sonically evolved sound to the masses. Moving away from the solidly rooted and undeniably ear-catching indie sensibilities of their acclaimed debut, their new single 'Anything To Win' invites listeners to explore desert rock soundscapes reminiscent of Queens Of The Stone Age, showcasing a scuzzier and more fuzzed-out rock sound that fits perfectly within alternative music circles. Keep an eye on Drownmag for the latest media updates on this exciting evolution in their musical journey.

Canela Party 2026: Day 3 - Noise, Joy, and No Sleep

Concert with confetti and enthusiastic crowd.

Following the undeniable caliber of artists and bands showcased on day two of Canela Party, the third and final day evolved, as is always the case (in the best way possible), into an alternative challenge for survival, testing both physical and mental endurance. Beers have been necked, ankles have suffered bruises worthy of slight concern, and our livers are pleading for sweet mercy. Amidst this, the collective headspace teeters between justifiable concern for our health and excitement for the upcoming musical offerings, all noted in the latest Drownmag media updates.

After scraping ourselves out of bed after night 1’s electric start, it was time to mentally prepare for what night 2 had to offer. In all honesty, it was the night we were all looking forward to the least. Not for any reason other than that night 1 was stacked top to bottom, and night 3 is costume day, which we always look forward to most. Our limited expectations were what really brought this night up a gear, especially since we were eager to catch the latest alternative music updates featured in Drownmag, our go-to magazine for media updates on the best acts around.

Day 1 of this year's Canela Party set the tone for the weekend. As covered by Drownmag, it was arguably one of the strongest days, with an atmosphere charged with an unmistakable feeling of anticipation for the genre amalgamation that this festival is famous for. The day featured garage pop, misshapen rock-jazz-fusion, and hardcore—an eclectic line-up that, at first glance, seems extremely off-piste. Yet, it worked, resonating with our group of seasoned festival-goers in all the right places. Stay tuned for more media updates from this alternative music experience.
